Job details: Job Responsibilities of a Biochemistry Technologist Analysing the lab findings and checking the accuracy of the results conducting the chemical analysis for body fluids like blood, urine or spinal fluid, as to discover the presence of any normal or abnormal components The technologist enters the data from the analysing of the medical tests and the clinical results in the computer for storage purpose The biochemistry technologist supports the enzyme engineering, can purify and produce recombinant proteins, then he can test the expression vectors He must manage the vector constructions and the techniques of mutagenesis, must execute and manage with the polymerase chain reaction Such a technologist specialist has to execute and also perform the programs for the DNA and the protein analysis, should be able to work with gene cloning and the microorganisms genetic manipulation Other duties refer to purifying and characterizing the recombinant proteins, from the eukaryotic and the prokaryotic systems S/he is in charge with the laboratory equipment and the supplies or the preparation of the DNA/RNA analysis The biochemistry specialist may know how to manage the liquid handling robotics and should know how to handle the software for the sequence analysis The technologist should show he has knowledge in the following fields: biology, chemistry, medicine and dentistry, mathematics and should also show good skills regarding the English language, the customer and personal service and the clerical aspect of working in a science laboratory.

Qualification/requirements: Bachelors Degree/ HND in the field or its equivalent Excellent communication skills, good leadership qualities and organizational skills are highly important. Must always be neat and presentable.
